Heavy Cavalry 33/40 is specially designed for large-displacement vehicles. It is based on the hard-core aesthetics of heavy-duty vehicle owners and continues the characteristics of metal side boxes. The Heavy Cavalry side bags have the convenience of soft bags and the shape of metal side boxes. Larger Capacity
With a total capacity of 73 liters (40L + 33L), the bag can easily accommodate all kinds of mid- to long-distance travel gear, including clothing, camping gear, tools, and electronic devices, ensuring you have everything you need for your journey.
Semi-Rigid Structure, Anti-Collapse Support
Combining the features of soft bags and hard-sided cases, the interior of the Cavalry motorcycle bags is supported by industrial-grade PP boards, giving them a solid, structured shape. This provides an organized and tidy loading space. Even when not fully loaded, the bag maintains its form without collapsing.
Quick-Release System, Easy to Install and Remove
Whether you’re starting or finishing your trip, installing or removing the backplate and bag from the bike is a breeze. The Cavalry’s quick-release system, equipped with clamps, allows you to easily attach and detach the entire side bag setup by simply opening the quick-release clamps.
Basket Loading System
Westwind’s patented basket loading system securely connects the basket to the backplate, while the bag itself slips into the basket. During your daily rides, you can quickly install and remove the bag without needing to detach the backplate, offering the highest level of flexibility and convenience. The basket’s surface is reinforced with Hypalon rubber, providing additional protection for the bag, even in the event of a crash.
Westwind’s Exclusive Fabric Solution – Thickened Composite Mesh Fabric
Recognizing the limited variation in materials used for motorcycle bags on the market, we found the usual material performance to be inadequate for our strict standards. Based on extreme usage scenarios, Westwind custom-developed a thickened composite mesh fabric with an 840D base. Compared to the commonly used TPU and PVC fabrics, this material excels in waterproofing, abrasion resistance, and weather durability.
Abrasion and Scratch Resistant
The outer layer of the fabric uses a PA ballistic nylon weave with a matte texture, providing excellent abrasion and scratch resistance.
Tear-Resistant
The inner layer of the fabric is reinforced with high-density mesh to prevent tearing and punctures.
Fully Waterproof
The bag has an IPX6 waterproof rating, and the fabric itself fully blocks water molecules from passing through. It effectively prevents water jets and ensures your belongings stay dry, even in heavy rain or adverse weather conditions.
Exceptional Weather Resistance
The bag uses customized PVC material, which boasts excellent weather resistance. It performs well in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C and remains unaffected by both humid and dry conditions.
Long-Lasting Durability
Unlike TUP materials, the PVC material we use does not degrade easily, resulting in a longer lifespan of over 10 years.
Hypalon Rubber Reinforcement
The bottom and sides of the bag are reinforced with Hypalon rubber, offering superior abrasion and tear resistance, significantly enhancing the bag’s durability.
Seamless Pressure-Bonding Technology
Westwind’s Cavalry saddlebags use seamless pressure-bonding technology for all connection points. The fabric is tightly bonded without any stitches or needle holes, ensuring complete waterproof protection.
Bartack Stitching, Precision in Every Detail
At stress points where the fabric is joined, bartack stitching is used for reinforcement. The high strength of the fabric makes the bartack process complex and challenging, but it results in a stronger, more durable connection.
Roll-Top Closure Design
For both reliability and waterproofing, the Cavalry saddlebags feature a roll-top closure with Velcro fastening, providing effective waterproofing, ease of use, and avoiding potential zipper issues during travel.
Magnetic Fasteners
High-quality magnetic fasteners with a sturdy structure that allow for one-handed operation and quick closure.
Combination Locks
Standard with two combination locks, allowing you to lock the bag to the bike frame to prevent theft.
Highly Stable
The adjustable fasteners on the backplate allow six-point attachment to fit different sizes of racks, ensuring the bag stays stable and wobble-free during the ride.
Rack Compatibility
Installing the Cavalry side bags requires a motorcycle rack. The Cavalry set is compatible with standard rack systems on the market, and we have versions designed for both exhaust and non-exhaust configurations.
