The design of the Westwind Moto Ranger Wilds (RW) hanging pannier series is ingenious. It is based on a standard bottom plate hanging tool we call the RW-Base, on top of which different capacity hanging bags can be installed onto it depending on your needs.
The mix and match purchase option allows for full customization of three different capacities - 3 Litres, 6 Litres and 12 Litres. In addition, these soft bags can be individually fixed on to your motorcycle's side frames, guard bars, rear subframes and other places where your ingenuity allows. They are lightweight, semi-rigid in form, and do not require any sort of bracket or backplates, and thus suitable for various models. We see them as the perfect adventure packs for when you want to travel light.
To purchase, choose whether or not you require the RW-Base, and select the RW bags which you desire to purchase alongside it.
Only RW3 can be attached to equipment such as RW20 and RW25 as an extension (not recommended for off-road use), while RW6 can only be attached as an extension to heavy cavalry units.
RW3, RW6 and RW12 can be directly attached to RW series racks(don't need the RW base), while this is not recommended for single RW20 or RW25(Perfect for RW 40 and 80 set with the base)

I have the full setup now, 3x12L bags on the back and 2x6L on the crash bars. This is perfect for a 1 week trip. The quality on the bags is amazing, I have tried other brands, and this ones are the best one, quality/price. For the bags to be really secure, better to buy the luggage racks, they dont move at all. And for me, I do a lot of off road, is just perfect!

Ben er heel tevreden van. Ik heb de 6 liter zakken voor dagtrips en de 20 liter zakken om op reis te gaan. Is heel tof dat je meerdere systemen hebt op één harnas.

I am on a Offroad Tour from Palermo hadding back home to Germany, Rheinland! Last year I lived and loved your 80 L System on 6000 km on my "Tour de Balkan"....let's see how many km it takes me this time to coming home! I add the rw12 both side ont the Westwind Rack luggage system and the fit extremely well also the rw6 at top mouth rack fit great and really nice product !!! Thank you

So far I’ve only unboxed and assembled the gear. So far I’m impressed with the quality and build. More to come as I begin using this set-up in the next couple months.

Top quality and well thought out bags. They at least match the quality of the old Kriega versions I also own, but the waterproof liners are seperate rather than velcroed in which is a better design.
Love the outside stash option meaning you don't need to unclip and unroll and then reroll and reclip to access small bits that don't need to be kept dry. Cable ties, sidestand puck, trail snacks or whatever.
Good value for money.

I am using the Westwind Moto rackless system (40 L with add-ons) on my Aprilia Tuareg 660 – but so far only on a few short rides.
I can’t give a real off-road verdict yet.
In general, the system is well known and has a solid reputation. Fitment and mounting feel very secure and well thought out.
I don’t have a direct real world comparison because this is my first soft luggage system ... although I did a lot of research beforehand and I am familiar with most competing concepts.
My main criticism so far is the thickness and stiffness of the dry bags.
They are extremely thick and quite stiff ... almost like a rubber sack. This certainly feels very robust, but it also makes the roll-top closure harder to roll down properly and noticeably bulkier. As a result, the bags end up looking and feeling quite chunky when packed.
For comparison, I have handled dry bags from Kriega before. From a material point of view, that is a very different level: noticeably thinner, lighter and much easier to roll, while still feeling very high quality, solid and waterproof.
I am aware that Kriega uses a different construction concept (no separate outer bag with an inner dry bag), but in my opinion this still shows that less material thickness does not automatically mean less durability.
One small technical detail I would also like to mention:
the webbing on the bags that looks like “MOLLE” is not standard MOLLE spacing. It works well for attaching small accessories, but it is not true MOLLE spec, so some standard MOLLE pouches may not fit perfectly.
Overall:
A very good and well designed system with a convincing first impression.
My only real downsides at the moment are the very thick and stiff dry bags and the non standard MOLLE layout.
Whether the extra material thickness becomes a real advantage in hard off-road use is something I still have to find out.
