Today, we’re happy to announce a key upgrade to two of our most popular luggage systems: the Ranger Wilds Enduro 40 and Ranger Wilds Enduro 80.
From Dakar Desert to Daily Adventure
When we took Westwind gear to the Dakar Rally, it was never meant to be just a logo exercise. It was a deliberate decision to put our equipment through one of the harshest environments on the planet: endless vibration, constant impacts, heavy loads and zero margin for error. The rally confirmed many of the strengths of our systems, but it also helped us identify where we could push things even further.
In parallel, over the last seasons we’ve been talking to riders all over the world — from weekend trail explorers to long-distance overlanders. We asked a simple question: “What would you improve?” The answers, combined with what we learned in extreme conditions, have directly informed the latest evolution of our hardware.
New AISI 304 Stainless Steel Side-Connection Hooks
The Ranger Wilds Enduro 40 and 80 bases use two families of metal hooks:

Robust, oversized hooks that tie the side panels to the center base.

More compact hooks that secure the bags to the base and anchor the forward and rear straps to the bike.
Those compact hooks work in very tight spaces and are exposed to a mix of dynamic forces, heavy loading and off-road shocks. To make them even more resilient for aggressive riding and fully loaded travel, they now come in AISI 304 Laser cut stainless steel, a high‑grade alloy widely used in demanding outdoor and marine environments for its excellent strength and corrosion resistance.
This new hardware offers:

Increased resistance to bending under high loads.

Greater durability in long-term off-road use.

Improved corrosion resistance in wet, salty or muddy conditions.
The larger structural hooks remain in their current, oversized aluminum design, where their dimensions and position continue to offer excellent strength-to-weight performance.

Free Upgrade for Existing Customers
Continuous improvement only makes sense if we bring our existing riders along with us. That’s why we’re also extending this hardware upgrade to customers who already own a Ranger Wilds Enduro 40 or Ranger Wilds Enduro 80 kit.
